Welcome to Alex's Pet Care. We provide information on pocket pets, reptiles, and some aquatic animals. Look for guinea pigs (cavies), fish, praying mantids (often mistaken as "praying mantises"), garter snakes, and gerbils. We discuss subjects like housing, feeding, basic care, tips, things to know, and more. Alex's Pet Care also has a few pages on live pet food (mealworms, fruitflies, and crickets). This site is a compilation of knowledge found through a lot of research (over the years) and good ole experience. I do my best to provide accurate, complete information on some more "unconventional" companion animals. I check my e-mail frequently so do so if you have any questions! March 17, 2008: Okay, so I have realized that it takes a great deal of effort and work to create a website. I am going to cut some topics that I know I will never get to, including chickens, parakeets, rabbits, and turtles. I haven't really read or dealt with these animals recently. Maybe I'll add them if I ever get done with the other subjects. In addition, I'm narrowing down some subjects. For example, snakes will only be garter snakes and fish will only encompass the fish that I have kept or read a great deal about.

Alex: loves animals, piano, family, pets, researching pets, playing with pets.Owns a dog and two gerbils.
Animals that I have had include Mongolian Gerbils, mixed breed gerbils, garter snakes, one tortoiseshell guinea pig ("Merryweather"), a selfs guinea pig ("Alfred"), a mix guinea pig ("Albert"), goldfish, fancy goldfish, Oscar fish, Russian dwarf hamster, Chinese dwarf hamster, Rottweiler mix doggy ("Teak"), Greyhound mix dog ("Sheila"), Chihuahua ("Penny"), Brittany dog mix ("Sheila"), praying mantises, numerous butterflies, Pleco fish, guppies, betta fishes, hermit crabs, a mixed breed cat ("Whiskers"), crawfish, and two rabbits ("Penelope", "Black Bunny"). I've recently acquired two baby garter snakes and five praying mantid eggs.
