HELLO!
My name is Sharon Robinson, I have been married to a wonderful man, Jeff, for 25 years, and we live in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. We are both originally from Asheville, NC, and moving to a big city in South Florida was a big change for us. Between the two of us we have 5 children and 4 grandchildren. I hope you checked out the Photo Studio where these four beautiful little people's pictures reside. We now have three adoreable little dogs, Bonsai-Barney, Sassy-Soo, and Yahtzee Dice-Tu, who we love dearly, and they keep us on our toes. I hope you checked out their photos as well, in the Pet Photo Album. I came up with the name "Scans of Time" when I started working with photographs for my family scrapbook and albums. I was scanning photos and duplicating newspaper articles that members of my family were in, such as obituaries, wedding announcements, school events, etc., and it came to me that I was preserving precious memories and family history for future generations. I have dabbled in writing poems since I was a teenager, but never took it too seriously until the last few years. I had some greeting card software and decided to start making my own greeting cards for family and friends. It was so much fun, that I haven't bought a greeting card in years. I make all my own Christmas cards as well. Before I had the software, I was making cards by hand and writing my own poem inside. I love trying to create a card with a poem that expresses my true feelings about that person or special day. Also, a greeting card you make yourself is so much more personal.
A few years ago some things happened in the news that really pulled at my heart strings. The only way I could deal with it was to write, and my writing always seems to come out in simple verse poetry. I hope you strolled through the Poetry Gallery as well. I have tried to put a small description over each poem as to why I wrote it. My children, grandchildren, and specific events are my inspiration. Also, the holidays are very special to me and I enjoy trying to come up with something new and inspiring. Please check out my Holiday Pages. I also began to get interested in photo enhancement. I had a photo of my father and uncle when they were boys which was badly damaged. I sent it to a professional to repair it, and after I got it back, I decided I wanted to see if I could do something similar. So, I learned how to use the photo publishing software that came with my printer. I tried all the tools, and used different effects until I became pretty good. I took the original picture of my father and uncle, scanned it, and tried to duplicate what the professional had done. I was surprised to see that I could do exactly what he had done, and for a fraction of the cost. I have since been duplicating, enhancing, repairing, and touching up family photographs for my family scrapbook and albums. My daughters send me pictures of the grandchildren via e-mail, which is a real blessing to me, otherwise I would miss a lot of their growing up. We all live in different states and only get to visit once or twice a year. I really enjoy playing with their pictures as you will see in some of them. If you have any questions, or would like more information about my work, please e-mail me or sign the guestbook with your e-mail address.
