While working in Waubonsie State Park we were visited by a member of the Lakota tribe. He brought along his two daughters and one of their friends. Each of the girls did a different dance for us.

There is a spring in Waubonsie State Park that flows westward as a creek, exits the Park in its northwestern corner and empties into Lateral No. 9. None of the maps I looked at gave a name for it, but Mr. Mincer told me that he had always heard it referred to as Indian Creek. His orchard is along the entranceway to Waubonsie State Park. He told me that as a boy he would find indian heads while hiking within the Park. I don't know of anyone who has found any artifacts recently.

This picture shows the footbridge over Indian Creek, looking south.
