The King Waits

Cassiopeia and  Orion got married
The seven sisters were the bride’s ladies
She’s independent, traveled to Spain and Italy
However she’s never sat down face to face with the man from Galilee

And He waits, the King, He waits
Yeah he waits, the King, He waits
For Marie to come home, bow down to the throne of the Man from Galilee

She sits alone with the TV on, no sound
The silence screams so loud.
“Where are my gods when the moon has gone down?”
Fists wrapped around her ankles, her knees up tight to her chin
Tears overflowing like rivers during a Midwestern flood
Washing away Cassiopeia but none of her sins

Cassiopeia died this morning as the sun came up over the bend
Marie sauntered down to the well to draw water, and met face to face with the Man
From Galilee.
