The 'Pilot' or Trial
This will now mean that the certificates awarded, should now run as: Bronze for ages 5-7, 8-9, 10 and 11+ Silver as above Gold as above Platinum as above This will now mean that the total number of certificates available will increase from four to 16. By using this system, it is hoped that each child or young person will be able to continue to achieve as many as possible, without running out of awards before their enthusiasm does. It was noted that, during the trial, one young person was so enthusiastic that he had completed the whole scheme before his 12th birthday, and was left with 'nothing more to achieve'. The scheme itself has now come to an almost 'dead stop' as the resources are limited, in some areas - non-existant. Funding for the scheme has so far come solely from the persons known as 'Co-ordinators' These are Nicola Canning and Kendra Tarplee. Printing costs, advertising, administration, human resources etc. have all been funded by Nicola and Kendra. Children were, and still are, eager to participate in such a rewarding scheme, but alas, without the recognition and resourses, this may not be possible. The current demand for such an innovative scheme far outweighs the resources available to it. A report was presented to the Early Years and Childcare Partnership, Education Department, as each were interested. We had even been prepared to 'give up' ownership to the Mayor if he wanted to use it for a 'Mayor's Award for Children' But nothing has been heard from any of these in over a year! Thus leaving us to struggle alone for a 'product' that is in demand!

The 'pilot' or trial was carried out with overwhelimg success! Graphs will soon become available on this site for you to view, they outline the amount of participants and levels achieved in numbers and %age rates. During the pilot, the co-ordinatory realised that the enthusians of some children was so vast that they have come to a conclusion that the awards should now become more age and level related and not just age as it had previously been.
