Planet X at the Crossroads (Woodland)

Triumphantly, Planet X returned to one of our favorite venues - the Crossroads in Woodland, CA. This show simply featured ourselves and Oil Kan, which allowed us plenty of time to stretch out and pull all kinds of rabbits out of our hats.

We played just about every song that we know, including some old chestnuts from our CD like "Don't Turn Back", "Silent Rage", and "Shades of Grey". Unlike in Sacramento, we've actually been successful at beginning to build a fan base in Woodland, so this was a special treat for these fans who had never heard any of these songs before - but might have bought copies of our CD and would recognize some of the tunes.

But wait, there's more...

We also performed our newest song "Wannabe?" in this show, so everyone was given a full panaromic view of every sonic peak and valley along the surface of Planet X.

Recently the door and booking policy at the Crossroads, has changed. They used to guarantee a certain cash amount for all the bands, but that has changed so that each band is payed based on the amount of people that enter while they're playing. This sort puts the various groups at odds with each other, but we're such good friends with guys in Oil Kan that we don't really care. Also the type of bands that get booked there is now changed to focus more on the heavier Rock oriented groups like us, since the crowd there seems to appreciate that the most. So even though the new policy ment we earned a little less (the club was 3/4 fulls while we played), it ment that we were going to continue to be booked in the future which is equally if not more important. Other groups like the Hip Hop outfit "The Cuf" had had their show cancelled due to the new policies.

Ok, sometimes you win one - sometimes you don't. We can just count our blessings that we're on the fortunate side of this particular shift of the winds. Or to put it another way - we DRAW - at least at this particular club, so I know we can draw at others. It's only a matter of time before they figure that out two. Whether people realize it or not - we're providing something that is genuinely unique in this day and age...

PURE HARD ROCK!!!

There really are people who still appreciate it, even some who've never really heard it, who want it, and who are going to have to come to us to get it, because nobody else in this town, or possibly even in this part of the state is doing it like we're doing it.
