1/14/19 - Super Battle Collection Son Goku

My first review will be on the 1992 Super Battle Collection Goku figure. As I make more reviews, I plan on condensing this page so it's not a big long list. But for now, it's staying as it is. Now, on to the figure...

Here's the man himself. Standing at roughly 5" high, this Goku figure capture's the characters look perfectly, especially for a figure this old. The sculpt is nice, with the wrinkles in his pants being very pronounced. The paint is also good, also the eye paint is a little off. Still, he looks great.

Goku Back

While I don't have the sticker on the front of his gi, I have the one on the back. In addition to coming with his 'name' symbol, he also came with the Kai symbol. Since I bought this used in a lot, this is all I have.

The main action feature of the Super Battle Collection is that you can usually remove some sort of accessory on the character. With Goku, you can remove his gi. What purpose this has I have no idea, but it does add some playabiliy to the otherwise static figure. This brings me to my point that this actually is a 1992 SBC figure. The later releases had the info stamped on the back of the toy, but as you can see, mine doesn't have that. I'm almost certain that the copyright sticker (the '92 figures had a sticker instead of a stamp) was at one point on the figure, but came off. I only think this because the other figures in the lot had the same problem execpt Piccolo. Inside his cape was a 1992 sticker. So I'm sure at one point the kid who had these took all the stickers off but left Piccolo's on for some reason.

Overall, this figure gets a 3/5 on my scale. The eye paint is a little off, and the articulation is slightly lacking, but the sculpt is nice and everything else is fine.
