Dragonball fun for everyone!
Fansub VHS Tapes
While I'm not selling any of my own fansubbed tapes, this page is to show and inform those who have never heard of fansubs. Back in the old days of fandom, Dragonball episodes past Goku fighting Ginyu on Namek were nonexistant (in english, at least). So, people who wanted to see the following episodes did so by buying bootled fansub tapes-- VHS tapes that contained maybe two or three episodes, in Japanese, with subtitles. Most of the time the translations were fine, but some people like AnimeLabs "spiced up" their scripts with tons of cursing.
I will provide screencaps and pictures of the fansub tapes that I own. Most of them are from Dragonball GT, but I do own all of the movies subtitled as well. In addtion to this, I will try and give as much info to the fansubbers who actually made the tapes!

This tape contains three episodes from the Baby Saga. It was released by GIA Films... who ever that is!
The cover art features Trunks and Pan, and I think it's from either a poster or school supply. The back cover has the stock GT portraits of the main trio (plus Gill!). The spine is typical. Whoever bought this in the 90s paid $15.99 for it... I got this in a lot of five for $20!

Here's the tape itself, just a standard blank tape with a custom sticker on it. The GT logo actually seems to be redrawn, which I suppose is pretty cool. The episodes themselves are done by Project-X, and I think they did all of GT. I don't have any screencaps yet because I haven't converted this one yet... I will soon.

I find this pretty cool. It seems that GIA Films was one of those things where YOU send a tape in, and they give you a nice case and sticker. Although it seems that whoever bought these must have got them from someone who owned a storefront and was selling them for an insane markup. Ahh, the old days of fansubbing.
