So Why do I like Evander?

The Enigma Known As Lewis

Well on to 1999 when it was
time for the 'Real Deal' to do battle with the 'Dark Prince.'
There was so much hype surounding this fight. It was in Maddison
Square Garden, a site with so much boxing history. But what
happened? Holyfield said he would knock Lewis out in the 3rd
round and he did not have a backup plan. Evander fought that 3rd
round realy hard and looked like his prediction may come true. It
didn't and it seemed like he forgot to fight the rest of the
fight. (I guess he didn't fully recover from his cold that he had
a couple of days before the fight.) Lewis didn't help the fight's
excitement either, because all he would do is jab to keep
Holyfield away. Lewis clearly won (by default only) but in
another surprise ending to a Holyfield fight, this one was
decided a draw. Huh?
It seems that the career of Evander
Holyfield just kept getting stranger and stranger. First the
parachuting incident, then retiring because of a misdiagnosed
heart problem, then the ear biting incident, and now the draw. I
don't like Lewis and I like Holyfield, but even I knew Evander
lost this one.
It
was time for them to fight again. I really wasn't expecting much.
Their styles do not match each other very well. The rematch was a
much better fight than their first fight and it appeared that
Holyfield had a slight edge on the scorecards. He really was
doing well, but took the last few rounds off, so I thought the
scoring was close. Well the judges didn't see it like I did and
Holyfield lost. I think if the judges scored the first fight
right, then maybe the judges in the second fight would've favored
Holyfield, but who knows. Lewis is a good fighter, but he is very
cocky so I do not like him. I don't feel he is a good champion.
