So why do I like Evander?

Next Step: Unification

After
retaining the WBA title from Tyson, Evander took the next step
towards unification by fighting the only man he fought and didn't
beat, Michael Moorer. Moorer had the IBF, 'Holy' had the WBA and
it was a fight towards uniting the titles. This was really a good
fight for him. I was looking forward to it a lot. Moorer came
into the bout looking a little heavy. Holyfield was sharp and
stellar in his performance. He avenged his previous loss to
Moorer with a brutal 5 knockdown clinic. I thought Moorer would
do bettter since he did know what it takes to beat Holyfield.

So
Holyfield had two of the three titles so only one more step was
needed in the unification process. Lennox Lewis had the WBC and
you just knew what was coming. Lewis was also the only quality
heavyweight of the time that Holyfield didn't fight. But, instead
of fighting each otherright off, Holyfield took the mandatory
defense against Vaughn Bean and Lewis went for Zeljko Mavrovic.
Both fights were just boring. Holyfield performed down to the
level of Bean and I began to wonder if the Warrior's best days
were behind him.
