Thanks...

First of all I would like to thank my section. These guys are awesome, and a lot of fun to work with (most of the time anyway...haha). This fall is gonna rock!!

I am deeply indebted to Brent especially for all his suggestions for things to put on this website. I also must thank him for designing the Survivor logo. You will be missed next year. Thank you!

I would also like to thank the band parents. They have everything under control. I have never seen a problem been presented to them that they haven't taken care of quickly and efficiently. So Thank you!

I next would like to thank the fans. They make band what it is. Without them, it would be no fun. Marching out on Howard Wood Field is awesome enough, but to look up and see the fabled "Sea of Green" under the pressbox ... there aren't words to describe the feeling.

The last thing that I have to say is something that actually, I didn't say. It is written in the Arrow Band Guestbook by Laura Foster, a drum major, and reprinted here for you to see:

"Well, I woke up saturday morning and didnt even wanna go to the competition in brandon...i was tired of competing. i was so excited for it to be over so i had more time for "me", but then when we started to do warmups i broke down. it was so hard to stand infront of you all knowing it would be the last time i would get to compete with you. i thought i would never miss being in band, but trust me now, i wish it was far from over. that saying "you dont know what you have til it's gone" is so true. im serious when i say "make the most of it" even if you dont think you are enjoying it and your parents are forcing you to be in it. i cryed myself to sleep last night just thinking about what i will miss next year. there are really no words to describe what i was feeling on saturday. as we waited in line to go on the field i didnt want to go on because i knew that from the moment i stepped foot on the field, i would have to step off. . for the last time. it scared me. . . . It was an awesome performance. I have never been prouder in my life. I thank the Lord above for giving me the chance to be part of this band. Many people laugh at me, call me a monkey, cant believe you can shed tears over band. . .they havent experienced it. They dont understand, and they wont unless they have been part of it. It has instilled way more lessons in learning then anything else so far. For all of you next year, keep up the great work. You have wonderful leaders that will keep up our outstanding pride and work ethics. Ill be back to watch you...Good Luck next year and Thank You so much for this wonderful year."

Finally, I would like to thank anyone and everyone who did anything to contribute to the show this year. All the techs, drum majors, drill writers, arrangers, etc, etc. You all have been wonderful. I thank you for helping to continue the proud tradition that we have at Pipestone-Jasper.

Thanks once again,

-Mike
