| By nature, I tend to have a bit of a competitive streak in me, more so against my own personal best than against other individuals. I believe that is where you can best measure your progress, and success. Where were you before you started? Where would you like to go? And what steps do you have to take in order to get there? I love setting goals for myself and then surpassing them and making new ones. My most recently interest is racing. I've been training myself for 2 months now to do my first 5k race. When I began I could barely walk to the post office and back without getting winded. Now I can easily walk 12 miles without a problem. My first race will be held in Weston Missouri mid-September of 2007. My plan is to mainly walk this one in order to get a base timeline. My second race will be held in Hays Kansas late October of 2007. I plan to jog the majority of this race. I am intending on racing once a month, gradually decreasing my time until I can run the entire 5k. At that point I'll decide whether or not to step it up to a 10k or not. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| I am a HUGE animal lover. Hence the nickname "critterlady" that I earned years ago. At one time I was deeply involved in raising, showing, and training Dalmations for both the confirmation and obedience rings. I had also been involved in raising and showing rabbits. Due to my divorce, I ended up having to sell all my stock in both Dalmations and rabbits. Although I probably won't get back into showing dalmations again, eventually I do intend on getting back into show rabbits. The breeds I have grown to love and adore are dutch, american fuzzy lop, and mini rex. | In addition to racing, another new interest of mine is Hapkido. Hapkido is a Korean form of Martial Arts. Hapkido actually means the art of coordination. I have been interested in this art for a few years but just recently became brave enough to give it a try. I love it. I've been training for a month now. I love the benefits that my body gets from these work outs. Also, John has decided to follow my lead and join also so now it's something new we can do together, and practice together after class. While getting physically fit together in the process. What's not to love about it? | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| I also have taken a new interest in cycling. I am still very new in this department. I have only done a little bit of cycling to date but I'm hoping to do alot more of it as I continue to gain physical strength and endurance. Or more specifically use the cycling to improve my strength and endurance. This is definately something I want to do more of. I've been saving to buy a new bike, one that fits my body better than the one I am currently using. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| More general interests are gardening, hiking, swimming, horseshoes, bowling, shooting pool, grilling out, and interior decorating. I also enjoy attending the boy and girl scout events with the kids. They pose alot of different challenages each time I go.
