| After my divorce, I was raising our four children on my own. I had been running a nail salon part-time while being a full time mom throughout the majority of my marriage. However, I knew the little income I made at the salon was not going to be enough for us to survive on. Sooo, I decided to close the salon and enroll for college like I had always dreamed. I enrolled for an Associates program in computer programming while working 3 part-time jobs. As you see I got my degree, but because I prefer black, I decided another degree was needed so I could have a graduation picture in a prettier gown. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| While enrolled at Pinnacle Career Institute, I met Jeff, who had become to mean alot to me in the years that we were together. Because of him, I learned alot about who I am, what I believe in, and what I stand for. Attending school and working full-time was not always easy... but he made it possible for me to do so. Jeff was special... in his own little "blu" way. Those that knew him knows exactly what that means. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| My dream was to earn a 4 year college degree. I had been told by many that I could not beat the odds. I had been told "why bother, you'll just drop out in 6 weeks", I had been told that I was not smart enough, I had been told that I was living in a fantasy land... but in spite of all this negativity, I accomplished my goal. I'm here to tell each and every one of you... especially all you single mothers out there... MAKE YOUR DREAM YOUR REALITY!!! |
