About India

Uttaram Yat Samudrasya, Himadreshchaiva Dakshinam
Varsham Tad Bharatam Naam, Bharati Yatra Santatih

This is an ancient Sanskrit verse defining the location of India and it’s people. It says “ To the North of the ocean and South of the snow clad mountains, lies the land called BHARAT and it’s children are called Bharatis”. This is India – the land of the Vedas, land of the Sanskrit language which gave us Hindi, Latin and other languages and which is now accepted as the best language suited for computers. Where Yoga was developed as the most powerful source of energy known to man and which gives a human being power to control nature.

Thus defined this land called Bharat from the beginning of time has been called by many names depending on the aggressor; and there have been many aggressors – it’s richness has always generated riches beyond imagination, climate, natural wealth, herbs, flora and fauna have been a draw for many types of aggressors. Huns, Kushans, Mongols, Arabs, Greeks, English have all come here in various forms from outright invaders to traders to take a way part of the immense wealth that had been accumulated over thousands of years.

The Arabs called the land Hindustan – The land of the Hindus. The English called it India but is and has always been BHARAT – the land of king Bharat.

The world’s first two universities – Nalanda and Takshshila were here where thousands of students from all over the world came to study. Subjects as diverse as engineering, mathematics, history, science, geography, philosophy, astronomy, medicine, surgery among many others. Most of this was destroyed by the muslim invaders who said “If this is knowledge it must be in the Koran and if it is not in the Koran then it is not knowledge and must be destroyed.”

The world lost millions of books and manuscripts, it is said that the library in the Nalanda University burned for months and the world lost known cures for many diseases like cancer. Even today we have the cure for graying hair with age, fading eyesight with age.

Knowledge of airplanes and their manufacture using mercury engines, of ‘0’ and mathematics and many other scientific achievements without which the world would have been a much different place, including nuclear weapons, existence of elements and Oxygen, age of the universe and the Earth, evolution of man. For Indians time began when the universe was created. Even today Vedic mathematics is a science whereby any number can be multiplied by any number in minutes. It has special systems dealing with geometry, algebra, trigonometry and all other branches of mathematics including calculus. Remaining books give insight to Europe and Scandinavia and the similarities in the Scandinavian beliefs and Odin and what is mentioned in Hindu texts. Bhaskaracharya - who wrote about Gravity 500 years before Newton.

The smallest unit of time is called “TRUTI” measured today as 1/33,750th of a second. The largest unit of time is of course the age of the current universe which is 1,57,17,29,49,106 (in 2004) it’s total age is 31,10,40,00,00,00,000 years. Of course the universe has been destroyed and recreated many times, same as the world has ended and restarted many times.

The various invaders came here and seeing the country settled here finally absorbing themselves into the populace as Indians or Hindus. Thus we have Huns, Kushans, Romans, Greeks etc. but all calling themselves Hindus. The Muslims cane around 1500 years back and decided to maintain a separate identity as did the Christians in the form of the English and Portuguese. Each has it’s distinct style of life as denoted by their books, architecture, philosophy etc. All are visible even today.

Of course the more famous places are the Taj Mahal and the Jantar Mantar among so many others. Taj Mahal which was never any symbol of love between the king and his queen, it was and is actually a symbol of hatred the king had for the local Hindus. It was originally a temple of Lord Shiva and Shahjahan the mughal king destroyed it and buried bodies there to insult the Hindus. The Jantar Mantar is an ancient sundial using which experts even today can tell the exact time.

There are many more places to visit and see. One can study and learn Yoga – the word literally means ADD – so it is really a way to add one’s soul to God.

I would like to invite everybody to come and visit India.
