Namaskar

I am Piyush Chandra from New Delhi, the capital of India. I collect world coins and have a small extras list that can be seen here. I am only 49 years and have been collecting coins for long but seriously only for the past 3 years. My coin collection has got me a whole lot of friends. Everybody I got coins from became my friend. Everybody I swapped with too became my friend, some more friendly than others but friends nevertheless. A lot of local friends just gave me coins (as I am sure you would have experienced too), but my hobby got a boost from the net.

I am a qualified electrical engineer with specialization in electronics from IT-BHU. I hold a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Bhopal University. I love sports specially Football, Hockey and Boxing. I’ve won quite a few medals in Boxing here. I played Full Back in Hockey and Football I was told later that that was because if the ball couldn’t be stopped I was good at stopping the players. I am also trained in unarmed combat.

 I love social work too. I am involved in several slum clusters running small schools for the people who cannot afford schooling for their children. Of course after some time they start looking at you as if you can solve all their other problems and I do try to help.

I am happy to say I have met very good people on the net and have had some very good swaps upto 300 coins so far in one swap. I am willing to swap stamps, postcards or anything else for coins. I have swapped notes and pocket calendars for coins already. A very good friend of mine does the same for websites.

Of course please don’t get offended if I ask you to send first because generally whoever contacts first also sends first. I normally swap 1 for 1 (1 x 1) but of course that may not be correct for rare coins or silver/gold coins and I am willing to compensate for that.

If you swap with me please be sure to check the condition of the coins as mentioned in my extras list before going in for the swap. The postage costs a lot and if you get bad quality coins after thinking they are good quality ones then it is a bad experience. May I request you to PLEASE send me coins with stamps instead of franking????? I have a friend who collects stamps and already I owe him a lot of stamps.

In India we have many languages and of the foreign ones I speak and read English. I can speak a little German and Urdu. So if you need any help with Hindi script (Indian coins or Nepalese coins) I can help you.
