Very Important Notice

All members - please note that when you come to the club to shoot, either in a competition or for practice, you are now required by law to carry your licence with you AND present it to the range officer for checking, before you shoot. If you forget to bring your licence you will not be permitted to shoot. This isnt being nasty. If the police ever roll up and do a spot check and find any person without their licence, being allowed to shoot, the range officer will be held responsible and could face a fine of up to $1500 - and no range officer is going to risk that.
So please, before you depart for the range, ensure that you have your LICENCE with you.

Nominations for Positions in the Club

If you wish to nominate someone for a committee position in the forthcoming Annual Club General Meeting, would you please pick up a nomination form from the club notice board, complete it and pin it back on the board. If you want to nominate yourself, same process, using the same form.

Annual General Meeting

The meeting is on Wed 27 Aug 2007 at the club. Please make an effort to be there as there are a number of important issues to be discussed and decided.

Annual Club Presentation Dinner

This is on Sat 30 Aug 2007 at the Jimboomba Tavern. Times are 6pm for 6.30pm. Would you please get your money to Vey Payne as a matter of urgency please.

Range Attendance Cards

These are available at the club. You will need to get these signed AFTER you have completed a shoot at the club, to enable you to justify retention of your pistols. Its a bit of a drag, I know, but the law requires it, so if you want to keep your pistols, youre going to have to do it.
You should also carry these with you when you attend a shoot at another club and it is
YOUR responsibility to get it signed at that club.

What are you going to remember to carry with you at all times when you visit a shooting club???

YOUR LICENCE.   YOUR LICENCE.    YOUR LICENCE.

Please dont say you werent told.
Have I mentioned yet that you MUST bring your LICENCE with you when you come to a shooting club to shoot???

DONT leave home without it!!
Interesting Pistols

This is the
Hammerli FP10 free pistol. You dont see many of them around at present but that could change. The first models had some trigger problems brought about by the use of stainless steel pins in the trigger unit and these wore and loosened causing trigger settings to change. The new pistols have replaced these pins with true bearings and the problem has been solved.
This pistol is starting to find favour with some of the leading FP shooters in the world. The compensator actually works on this pistol and only needs cleaning about every 4000 rounds. Nifty but expensive.
Morini CM32M Centre Fire Pistol.
I included this because John Crowther intended to buy one, a long time ago and they werent available. They still arent, for some strange reason, yet the photos of them are. So, John, this might be the nearest you ever get to one.
Frankly, Im not in love with the appearance of the magazine.
And this is the MG2 Standard Pistol by Cesare Morini (I showed this in a previous issue). It has taken off in the USA and this is set up for USA bullseye shooting, with a red dot sight on top.

Neat bit of kit, eh?
Finally, and at the risk of being a bore, what are you going to remember to bring with you to the range next time you come out to shoot???

YOUR BLOODY LICENCE - Got it????
