CLASSROOM POLICIES & PROCEDURES
Daily, on-time attendance is critical to a child's success in school. I reward students for being on time and here on a daily basis.
Homework will be assigned homework on a daily basis, Monday through Thursday. Homework should take no more than about an hour nightly. This is in addition to the 30 minutes of reading that is expected each night. Homework is due first thing the next morning.
Any behavior problems will be handled in one of three ways: 1) Minor problems will be handled between the teacher and student, either through lost recess or behavior essay, 2) Parent contact (for slightly more severe or chronic behavior problems), or 3) Referrel to the office (for major behavior problems)
When a student is absent they will be expected to make up any missed work. It is preferable to have the work picked up on the day of the absence. They will be given two days for each day absent to get the work turned in.
Students in this class will be regularly scheduled to work on the classroom computers. They will be doing research on the internet, as well as learning how to use various software such as Word processing and Spreadsheets. (See link for District Acceptable Use policy.)
Students will be provided with a pencil each month. It is important for each child to have a binder which they bring to class each day.
