BRDM-1 SCOUT CAR

{IMAGE}

{ROThe Molotov GAZ plant built vast numbers of BRDM-1s since the mid fifities, for external and internal markets. Later it was replaced in the russian army by the BRDM-2 (4x4) Armoured Car. Every Russian ally had a number of these in the five continents; it was exported to 46 countries. A peculiar feature is the couple of middle wheels that can be lowered or lifted, depending on the terrain. As built, it has no NBC protection, nor night vision devices. Fully amphibious is propelled in water by two water jets. It´s a correct vehicle, very versatile and, above all, cheap and easy to operate and maintain, like some other russian vehicles. There were a lot of variants, adapted to any kind of russian AT missile: Sagger, Swatter, Sanpper, and tehre is a Command Version, and a NBC one.
