I am a licensed psychologist and also a transsexual woman who started transition in February of 1999, and have been living and working entirely in my true gender since March 2001.  Gender issues comprise a large proportion of my practice.  Additionally, I volunteer as the facilitator of a peer support group for transsexuals in transition.

Based on my work experience with other transsexuals, and my real-world and on-line friendships within the transsexual community. I strongly believe that attitude is critical for both acceptance by others and self-acceptance.

Those who make a happy and successful transition place less importance on physical "passability",  believe in themselves, and expect a positive reaction from others.  While those who are stuck in the victim mentality, continue to be  miserable, despite accomplishments, "passability", and surgery.

I am available for consultation by e-mail, with the warning that e-mail, telephone, or chat consultation is NOT a substitute for face-to-face individual psychotherapy. I am happy to consult with other professionals and agencies who are working with transsexuals in their local communities.
