Bio or How I found out I was an artist
I started out as a closet artist, but from an
early age I was interested in found objects.
and making prank phone calls.
I had the main trappings of an artist:
I liked making a fool of myself, being the center
of attention, performing for an audience and drinking free champagne.
The rest of it just involved getting rid of all the WORDS I'd been
surrounded by, trapped in, and fascinated with and eventually stumbling
onto the canvas after a lot of wrong turns along the way at age 20. After
college I went to Paris to avoid the postgraduate adult world and
started painting a series of masturbating nudes. After a couple of years
of that, the occasional still-life with and without shoe and some portraits,
I was ready to move on to other subjects. and back to my native New York...
