SHOE PORTRAITS!

Emelda Marcos, Cinderella, Dorothy, Carrie from “Sex in the City”, Andy Warhol, Freud… What do they have in common? The importance of shoes in their lives. Shoes as opulent, excessive, decadent, disgusting extravagance, shoes to win the prince, shoes to take you and your dog Home, shoes and the modern single woman, shoes and the pop artist and shoes as fetish. Shoes and career – from sports to dance to prostitution...

Then there are shoes as mass graves, the shoe on the side of the highway, the shoes in your own closet. Do you have a favorite pair of shoes? Do you wear one pair of shoes 24/7? Have you kept shoes of a person that was close to you? Have you inherit someone’s shoe collection?

The mystique of shoes… Why does your husband obsessively put his slippers by the side of the bed before he goes to bed? Is there a pair of shoes you can’t stop thinking about that’s too expensive to buy? Are you mystified by other people’s preoccupation with shoes? Are you turned on by the sight of a woman or man in high heels? Do you remember how great it felt to tie your own shoelaces? Why does it feel so great to magically become two or three inches taller?
