Vortex: Paramount Kings Island
Vortex was a pretty cool ride in my book.  It is a self-contained, corkscrew type coaster.  Ithas 6 inversions, most of them well placed, and wasn't too bumpy.  Usually corkscrew coasters rate just as high as wooden coasters in terms of bumpiness.  But this one was okay.  And no, the horse collar restraints didnt get in the way either.

There are two great elements that I will like to discuss with you guys.

I am an avid fan of track over track layouts.  This ride had, what I think, the best series of inversions.  After the
MCBR, the train gears up for the second set of coupled inversions.   It takes you through this great double corkscrew roughly 50 feet above grass and bushes.  It was very nerve racking to see your train set up to do this set of inversions. Not only are you 50 feet above greenery, there track leading from the base of the first drop that the double corkscrew went over.

Then there is another great pair of loops near the end.  The train cycles around, after the double corkscrew and enters a heart loop.  They have it situated paralell to the foot path.  I thought that it had really good placement, the inversions were timed properly, and there was ample track over track inversions.

            For a corkscrew type coaster,
Vortex is still highly recommended.  It has a few nice elements, an unusally short queue, and quite easy on the back and neck.
Horse Collar Restraints - A safety system that resembles horse collars.
MCBR - Mid Course Brake Run.  A set of brakes that are near the middle of the course.
