| Methods & Procedures Last class we learned about space, can anyone tell me the 2 types of space? general and self Today we are going to practice different ways to move and different body positions. As I describe them to you, you perfrom them in your own self-space. The first is walking and we all know how to walk, right? Yes Next is running and where do we run? Outside. The next movement is hopping, when we hop we only use one foot. Carlos can you show the class how to hop. Very good. Leaping is next, Leaping is when you take off of one foot and land on the other foot traveling forward. Sliding is the same thing as we did the other day. Make one side of your body face forward and you a open-close pattern with your feet. Looks something like this. Who knows what galloping is? It's what a horse does, right? Keep one foot in front and slide the back foot up to the front then extend your front foot out again. Mary will show us. Skipping consists of a step hop. Now for body positions. A pike looks like this, with your feet straight out in front of you. A straddle is when your legs are as far apart as they can be. |
