The name of the organization shall be Alumni Association, Government
College, Hyderabad.
2. PATRON:
The
Principal of Government College, Hyderabad shall be Ex-officio patron of
the association.
3. ADDRESS:
The
registered office of the Association shall be located in the premises of
Government College, Hyderabad.
4. AIMS
AND OBJECIVES:
The aims and objects of the Alumni Association, Government College,
Hyderabad shall be as under:
(i) To help foster fraternity by launching educative and motivational campaigns for the
achievement of national goals and by inculcating better understanding
between the old students and the present students of Government College,
Hyderabad.
(ii) To undertake
research for devising an educational system based on the integrated
principles of Islam, placing equal emphasis on the training of will and
intellect of the youth, equipping them with scientific advances and
technological developments of their age, inspiring them through the
strength of character, enabling them to play an effective role in nation
building.
(iii) To find ways
and means to forge and strengthen relation with
the organizations and institutions having similar aims.
(iv) To suggest
short term and long term measures for achieving an image and prestige of
old boy all such measure as may facilitate and help to achieve the
ultimate objectives and promote the cause of the institution.
(v) To put forth
efforts to promote welfare of alma mater.
(vi) To generate
resources with a view to help the needy members.
5.
ELIGIBILITY
OF MEMBERSHIP AND CLASSES:
An ex-student wishing to get himself/herself enrolled as a member:
A)
Should have remained a bona-fide student of the college for at least one academic
year.
B)
Should have been admitted to the college at least 15
years prior to the date of application for membership.
C) Membership
Fee: An
applicant shall deposit an amount of Rs.
50/- as membership fee at the
time applying for membership.
D)
Annual subscription: Annual
subscription shall be Rs. 100/- commencing from the year of enrolment.
Unless a member has all dues he/she shall not be entitled to contest for
any post of such member shall be entitled to cast a vote.
E) Life Membership: An
ex-student of the college wishing to become a life member shall pay an
amount of Rs. 1000/-. Thereafter the member who has thus acquired life
membership shall not be required to pay annual subscription.
F)
Office Bearers:
The
following shall be the office bearers of the association:-
i) PRESIDENT
The president shall be elected by the general body. He shall preside
over all meetings of the executive committee and the general body.
ii) PRESIDENT ELECT.
He shall be elected by the general body and shall assume office
immediately after the expiry of the tenure of the office of the
president.
iii) VICE PRESIDENTS (MALE).
To be elected by the general body from among the male members; one for
Hyderabad and one for Karachi.
iv)
VICE PRESIDENT (FEMALE).
To be elected by the General Body from amongst the lady members. Any of
the Vice President who is senior by the virtue of admission in the
college shall preside over the meeting of the executive committee and
the General Body in the absence of the President.
v)
GENERAL SECRETARY* (SECRETARY)
(a) The
General Secretary shall be elected from amongst the members
of the association posted at Govt. College, Hyderabad*
(b)
The General Secretary shall maintain all the records of the association
and shall execute all decisions of the executive committee.*
(c)
He shall record minutes of the General Body meeting and executive
committee meeting and circulate the same amongst the members.*
(d) He shall carry out all the correspondence on
behalf of the association.*
(e) He shall present annual report before the General Body.*
(f)
If the General Secretary is posted out of Hyderabad or retired
from the service and resides out of Hyderabad, then the management
committee shall nominate any one of the members posted at Govt. College,
Hyderabad to officiate as General Secretary for the remaining period.*
vi) JOINT SECRETARY (FEMALE).
To be elected by the General Body. She shall assist the Secretary in
execution of his functions.
vii) JOINT SECRETARY (MALE).
To be elected by the General Body. He shall assist the Secretary
in execution of his functions.
viii) FINANCE
SECRETARY* (TREASURER).
To
be elected by the General Body from the members posted/residing at
Hyderabad. He shall receive all Subscription, issue receipts, deposit
cash in the Bank, maintain accounts and operate the bank account in
collaboration with the Secretary/President. He shall also present
accounts of the Association before the Executive Committee and the
General Body.
ix) INFORMATION SECRETARY
To
be elected by the General Body. He shall be responsible for the
publicity to the programmes and the decisions made by the managing
committee/general body through print and electronic media.
x)
MEMBERS OF THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE.
There
shall be 10 members of the Executive Committee including two ladies. The
total number of the members of the Executive Committee shall be
increased by one for each 100 members enrolled beyond one thousand.
G) TENURE OF THE OFFICE.
Tenure
of the office of the office bearers and members of the Executive
Committee shall be two years. A member shall not hold the same office
for more than two consecutive terms. A member shall hold only one post
at a time.
H) ELECTIONS.
Election
for the above mentioned posts shall be held in the month of February
after every two years. However, in case of emergency, the Executive
Committee may postpone the elections but not beyond 30th
April of the year of elections.
I) GENERAL
BODY.
All the members
of the Association shall constitute General Body.
J)
ACCOUNTS.
Accounts
of the Association shall be operated jointly by the President/Secretary
and the Treasurer. Name of the Bank and the nature of the account shall
be determined by the Executive Committee.
K) QUORUM.
Fifty
members shall form quorum for the General Body. One-third members of the
Executive Committee shall be the quorum for the meeting of the Executive
Committee. No quorum will be required for the adjourned meeting.
L) AMENDMENTS
TO THE CONSTITUTION.
In
case it is deemed necessary to amend the constitution, at least
twenty-five members of the Association shall serve notice in writing to
the Secretary at least thirty days before the meeting of the General
Body (which shall be circulated amongst the members). In case two third
of the members present cast their vote in favour of the proposed
amendment it shall be incorporated in the constitution provided the
total number of votes casted is not less than 50 in favour of the same.
RULES OF BUSINESS.
1.
ELECTION.
Nomination
papers duly proposed and seconded, will be invited before the
commencement of the business session.
Detailed
schedule of the election will be announced by the Secretary.
Election will be
conducted through the secret ballot.
MEETING
OF EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE.
(i) The meetings of
executive Committee usually will be held after every two months to
conduct their proceedings.
(ii)
It will be the
duty of Executive Committee to arrange programme for the next General
Body meetings ensuring maximum attendance of the members and chartering
out elaborate programmes of comprehensive agenda, entertainment and
other necessary thing which they deem fit and proper for promoting the
cause of Alumni.
