I was born in Vinh Long, Vietnam, in 1979. My family and I came to the United States in 1983. I have lived in Long Island, NY; New Haven, CT; Wallingford, CT; and Houston, TX. I now reside in Austin, Travis County, Texas, and I live in a house that was built by Kimball Hill Homes in 2003. I live there with my two younger brothers, one is in his second year at The University of Texas at San Antonio and one works for Advanced Micro Devices (AMD). My parents live in Houston, Harris County, Texas. I also have a girlfriend, and we have been together since May of 1999. 143, TL. Although she is Catholic and I am Buddhist, we both attend mass at St. Albert the Great Catholic Church. I go to church with her because I am openminded and secured with my beliefs and convictions in Buddhism and its teachings. I attended the following schools: Saint Brendan School, New Haven CT (Pre-K through 2); E.C. Stevens Elementary, Wallingford, CT (3 - 5); Stovall Middle School, Houston, TX (6 - 8); and Aldine High School, Houston, Texas (9 - 12). I graduated from Aldine in 1997 and went to UT-Austin for four years. After graduating from The University of Texas at Austin in August of 2001, I enrolled in the Legal Assistant Program at Austin Community College. I received my Paralegal certificate in May of 2003 and am currently working as a paralegal at the law firm of Scott, Douglass & McConnico, LLP. I plan to apply to the following law schools: Baylor University Law School; The University of Houston Law Center; The University of Texas School of Law; and South Texas College of Law, and Texas Southern University - Thurgood Marshall School of Law. More information about the law school application process and the Law School Admission Test (LSAT) can be found at the website for the Law School Admission Council (LSAC). I am an avid volunteer at Walnut Creek Elementary, where I tutor and mentor Vietnamese students in the Vietnamese Bilingual Program. I am the founder and chairman of the Walnut Creek-Vietnamese Foundation. I also volunteer in the Emergency Department at North Austin Medical Center and with the Central Texas Chapter of the American Red Cross, where I am responsible for updating the volunteer information page. My favorite movies of all-time are The Lord of the Rings and Godfather trilogies. Other movies that I like include Braveheart, Gladiator, the Harry Potter and Spider-man movies, and all of Jet Li's, Donnie Yen's, and Jackie Chan's movies. I am waiting for Jet Li and Donnie Yen to come out with real good "made-for-American theatres" martial arts movies, like many of their Hong Kong movies. As for television, I watch ER, Law & Order: SVU, CSI, CSI: Miami, CSI: NY, The Simpsons, and a teen drama called One Tree Hill. My music taste ranges from classical music to hip-hop, but the majority of the time, I like a song because it has a good beat and/or meaningful lyrics. Musicians I enjoy listening most are Enya, Sarah McLachlan, Nhu Quynh, Faith Hill, Dido, and Eminem. I am a big fan of Yao Ming and the Houston Rockets. I want Yao Ming to get an NBA Championship ring. I like eating out at Johnny Carino's, Thai Passion, and The Cheesecake Factory, and, after a nice meal, I work off the extra pounds at 24-Hour Fitness. I wear Sketchers footwear and I shop at Wal-Mart simply because, as a friend of mine puts it, "my money makes sense there." My car is a 2003 Acura 3.2TL Type-S, and it's 260-hp of pure adrenaline rush, with a touch of class, style and luxury! A friend of mine calls it a "pimp-mobile"; I call it, "ONE FINE-A$$ CAR AND A KICK-A$$ RIDE!" Anyways, check out the review at NewCarTestDrive.com, or visit the official website for Acura.
