OK, So I'm really not in Hawaii, but it's better than just a plain background. Well even if it doesn't look like it in the picture...I LOVE SCUBA diving! And Just like most of the divers I've met, we'll talk your ear off if you let us get started! So keeping that in mind here goes... I got started in SCUBA in college in 1989, although it was something I KNEW that I would one day do. I had always dreamed about doing it, so one day my dream became reality! Starting out in the class I didn't look like I would one day be a diver. I was out of shape, was one of the last out of the water for the prerequisite skills, although I had always loved water and swimming. But as soon as the class started I was hooked! Once certified I began helping the instructor with the class, and knew that I wanted to teach someday! John Carr my instructor, mentor, and friend has taught me everything I know, and I'm continuing learning. (Thanks John!) I am now an Open Water Instructor under the training agency of Scuba Schools Int. (SSI) Once I get several students under my belt I would like to get into teaching diving to the disabled. There are a few instructors that have gotten the training to do this, and I think I would enjoy sharing the diving experience to as many people as I can!
I have been helping with classes under Mike Bowman also.
I have made numerous fresh water dives in the past 10~11 years with both Mike and John.
Back in December '96 I finally got to go to the Bahamas and do some saltwater dives. I could see
my hand in front of my face!!! What a treat! The highlight of the trip was a dive with
sharks!
We were able to
dive with 8 black-tipped reef sharks ,
a couple close enough that I could have reached out and touched them. What I
feeling of Awe!! They are beautiful creatures, just glad I had the chance to experience
their company! What a way to be humbled! I've been to the Bahamas several more times,
and also got to go to Bonaire, NA in '98. Check the link for the photos of
that trip below.
I haven't been diving that much lately, and had planned on a trip to another Bahamas island, but that didn't seem to work out. Looking into possibly going to Cozumel, Mexico instead? Who knows, as long as it's wet, I'd love to go!
Some of the places I've been diving are as
follows:

There are numerous SCUBA sites on the web, I've included just a few of the products or services that I use. Zeagle, DUI, Aeroskin,Divers Alert Network(DAN) .
I'd also like to include the site for my friends at
Grand Bahama Scuba. That's me with Shamie.
