1. Tuition Fees.

Tuition fees depend on three factors:

A. Teacher's qualifications.

B. Teacher's experience.

C. Subject and level taught.

In your application you decide how much YOU would like to charge for the lessons. However, if your tuition fees are too high, students might then choose other tutors. You will be advised about this during the friendly phone interview.

2. Non Qualified Teachers

There are many tutors wihout qualifications or experience. Some students choose very well qualified and experienced tutors, others those with the lowest tuition fees. We accept every1.

During the second part of the friendly interview we help new tutors cope with our new method. We even offer a (voluntary) short training period in some subjects.

3. Telephone calls.

As a tutor you will make the calls. However, you do NOT have to pay for the phone calls, we do.

4. Extra lessons.

At the end of one lesson you should make an appointment for the next . Some students might call you to have extra lessons outside the scheduled times. If you are available then have the lesson, inform us and you will be paid. If you are bussy at that time, then make an appointment for another time. Please tell your students the time when they can call you. (eg 7am-10pm).

5. Payment.

Students pay directly to www.PhoneTutors.com. You must NEVER ACCEPT a direct payment to you (see terms and conditions at the end of the application form).

As a Phone Tutor you must inform us when you have lessons with your students. If your lessons are scheduled (e.g. "Every Monday") we will send you a cheque in advance. Otherwise we will make sure you receive your payment ASAP.

6. About Us.

We, www.PhoneTutors.com, are a network of teachers originally from London Home Tutors. Today there are Phone Tutors in France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the UK.

We are now able to offer private tuition worldwide thanks to our innovative method. Most of our students live in areas where there are not enough qualified teachers able to tutor them using the traditional method.

As teachers we are concerned about education in under-developed countries. This is why we have a commitment to donate a minimum of 0.7% of our total income to organizations such as Intercultura, Intermon -Oxfam, The Charity for African Education, Unicef and VSO.

9. Tax

All tutors are self-employed and are responsible for any tax and/or national insurance contributions which may be due. This will depend on the country of residence.

Usually, VAT does NOT apply to educational services.

If you are a UK resident, and your earnings are below £15,000 for a full year you will NOT have to register with customs and excise. However you can apply for voluntary registration.

For help and advice on VAT ring your VAT Business Advice Center or Enquiry Office listed in the phone book under 'Customs and Excise'.

For general help and advice on tax, ring or call in at your local Tax Office or Tax Enquiry Center. Their addresses are in you local telephone book under 'Inland Revenue'. Most offices are open to the public from 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday. Some are also open outside these hours.
