Excellent, save for one abscess in 12/2005.
Temperament: Kain
is a wonderfully sweet boy who trusts everyone and loves to
snuggle. He isn't adventurous and would rather snuggle under
blankets, in a hoodie, or on your lap then go exploring at free
range time. He is fairly submissive to other rats and has problems
defending himself against forced grooming attempts from his
cagemates, Jack and Oz. Since the introduction of Nitro and
Kasi, Kain has learned to be more dominant. He likes to chase
Kasi around during free range time for fun (his only real exercise)
but never aggressively.
His Story: I
got in contact with Andrea from HRH about getting a platinum male
from her when they were available. As soon as I saw the
picture of Kain, who was 3 weeks old at the time, I fell in love and
immediately said that I would take him.
After quarantine, Kain
met up with the rambunctious Jack Bandit and moved into his new
cage. The two of them did not become fast friends.
Bandit's pushy nature frightened the younger rat and the two avoided
each other for quite a long time. Eventually, however, they
became interested in each other and used each other as pillows for
naps.
Kain is still quite young
and hasn't had many adventures. While he is intelligent, he is
too lazy to learn to climb off the bed during free range time,
instead opting to snuggle in the rat hangout I created at the top
edge of my bed.
When Kain moved into his
new home in Milwaukee he took the time to actually take a walk
around the house. He seems to have taken a liking to it and
often romps around for awhile before going back to the couch for a
nap.
