He perceives himself a pretty capable man,
not heroic, but true to his own heart
He is able to balance the forces in life
and doesn't require much help for that
He has failed a few times, back in his younger days,
yet grew into an unusual man
He isn't startled by love or bad luck at all,
though he's never been blessed in all his life
But lately he can't help to feel a little ill,
he's bothered even by flowers too bright
or irregular sprinkles topping his ice-cream
He yearns for someone to knock on his door,
who will provide the words to express how he feels
Until that day he will patiently wait
and seek answers to life in his coffee cup

It's not true he has never been in love,
people just forgot, for it was so long ago
He adored a woman named Hope,
she made him smile his rare but so beautiful smile
They had great aspirations and big plans
Suddenly he had all he always prayed for,
but call it tangled or the devil's work -
the accident that forced him to abandon all Hope
and causes him agony till this day
He tries to outride it, but isn't able to
His sad remark "She will always be mine"
can't hide the strain her death put on him for all time
He struggles with forgetting her each day
