I am 59 years young and have probably never grown up. I currently work as a Post Master at the Llanharan Post Office. I love the outdoors and in my spare time like to be in or around water. I am a keen angler, and enjoy fishing locally for coarse fish and also sea fishing both from the beach or in a boat. I'm a member of Wring's angling club, and White Hill's Sea Fishing Club.

In my early fifties, I started scuba diving. I'm a member of the Llantrisant Sub Aqua club. www.llantrisantdivers.com During the summer months, we enjoy diving around the beautiful Pembrokeshire coastline. During the Winter months, I take the opportunity to visit other countries where I can dive into clear warm waters. I've been fortunate enough to swim with sharks, turtles, manta ray, and many different species of reef fish. My favourite destination is the Maldive Islands, and my favourite atoll is Meemu, 150 kilometres south of the capital Male. Together with my wife Sandra, we travel to the Island of Hakuraa in December. The air temperature is generally around 30 deg centigrade, and though it often rains, the sunshine soon breaks through making the climate very pleasant indeed. I take the opportunity to scuba off the tilas, reefs and channels of the atoll, whilst Sandra enjoys snorkelling in the warm clear waters of the shallow lagoon that surrounds the Island.

Since becoming Post-Master in Llanharan, I have been interested in Village life, and currently write an end page for the District Diary,a free paper published monthly, that is distributed to 8000 homes in the Llanharan, Llantrisant, and Talbot Green areas. In this colomn, I write about local events and concerns, the changes in seasons, walks around the area, and daily life in my Post Office.

I am currently attending the University of Glamorgan and undertaking modules in Creative Writing, with the objective being to improve my literary skills. There's a book in me somewhere, and I intend to write it.
