| Sawadee Krup! (greeting in Thai) This edition of the Cubby is a very special one. After many years of speculating and pondering whether it was feasible - Simon and I finally went to Bangkok! We started planning for the trip early in the year. After countless telephone calls and weeks of leg work, October came and we finally were in Bangkok. We stayed for one week which might sound short after all the work we put in. That's because we really didn't know how would the trip be for a person with muscular dystrophy and, working on worse case scenario of extreme difficulty in getting around (afterall, Bangkok is NOT known as a wheelchair friendly city) and the 24 hours care needs, we thought one week was long enough. I also felt that Simon would probably find a first trip to the place like this quite overwhelming so one week might be all his body can take. But I hope that this will be the "first" and not the "only" trip to Thailand for him. To our surprise, getting around wasn't all that bad. Certainly, It was NOT wheelchair friendly but was not too bad in term of access to places. And there were always people willing to help. One thing I have learnt: in Bangkok, anything is possible. The photos of the trip are up. Click on the Bangkok Oct 06 icon on the left to see our adventure in the land of smiles. |
| Recently I had an opportunity to try out my hand at taking photos of some bike riders at a skatepark. It was a chance to practice some fast frame shooting and panning, as well as all other control and composition practice in general. Click on the Flying High icon to see some of what I managed to capture that day. I am in the process of updating this site... should be totally ready mid September. Come back and check it out then. |
