A promotional photo, it was taken shortly after Throkmorton had recovered from life-saving surgery on his big toe. Edwin Gildersleeves was a millionaire, having made his fortune in toilets and sewers. |

The actor shown is Horace Legbender, a childhood friend of Throkmorton Q. Gildersleeves, and one of the most ardent supporters of the Brewery. | A member of the original fleet of Gildersleeves Brewery delivery trucks. The transition from horse-drawn vehicles to the new-fangled motor vehicles proved to be a boon to Gildersleeves' distibution of his fine brew. It was in one of these trucks that T. Q. Gildersleeves proposed to the lovely Edwina Lum.
