International Fora

  1. Participation and presentation of LMC Best Practices in the Philippines at the 11th National Labor-Management Conference in Chicago, Illinois, U.S.A. upon invitation of the U.S. Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service, May 29-31, 2002.
  2. Presentation of country paper by Atty. Lorenzo B. Ziga at the APO Top Forum on Labor-Management Cooperation, Tokyo, Japan, September 18-21, 2001.


Education/Public Information and other Activities

2005
  • Launching of the 2005 Search for Outstanding LMCs for Industrial Peace in partnership with NCMB-DOLE held on February 28, 2005 at the Seamen's Convention Hall, Cabildo corner Sta. Potenciana Sts., Intramuros, Manila.
  • Presentation on Principles of LMC by Ms. Ma. Rosario P. Avestruz and Mr. Rene De Los Reyes, PHILAMCOP officers and accredited LMC Trainers during the Labor-Management Cooperation Practitioners - 10, Inc. in Asia Brewery Penthouse, Misamis Oriental.

2004

  • LMC Trainers' Training and PHILAMCOP's 3rd General Assembly, November 10-12, 2004 at Crown Regency Suites, Mactan, Cebu. There are 29 participants in the LMC Trainers' Training from all over the country, which include 9 PHILAMCOP national officers and 20 regional LMC Practitioners.
  • PHILAMCOP Visioning Workshop, 20 August 2004, The Pearl Manila, U.N. Avenue, Manila.
  • Symposium on Enforcement of Labor Standards, 31 March 2004 at the Bayview Park Hotel. The symposium provided an update on the latest DOLE issuance relating to laws on working conditions particularly D.O. 53-03 with comprehensive overview on the role of labor and management in the Labor Standards Enforcement Framework embodied in the Department Order No. 57-04.
  • Participation of Mr. Nestor Flores & Ms. Vicky Cinco as LMC resource persons during the PMAP CALABARZON Area meeting, February 2004.
  • Strategic Planning for LMC Program 2004-2005, 22 January 2004, Casa Marinero, Intramuros, Manila.

2003

  • Conduct of the 4th National Convention on LMC, November 17-18, 2003 at The Manila Hotel. The two-day convention highlights 20 learning sessions dealing with the different aspect of labor relations. It was attended by 500 Labor-Management Cooperation Practitioners from all over the country.
  • Conduct of LMC Trainor's Training for the Laguna Labor-Management Council using the LMC Standard Module.
  • Development of a Standard LMC Module in partnership with the NCMB-DOLE, U.P. SOLAIR and DAP.

2002

  • PHILAMCOP's 2nd General Assembly, October 12, 2002, Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte. Resource Person: Prof. Arminda V. Santiago on the topic Advocacy Communication.
  • LMC Educational Video Training Material entitled "Moving Ahead with LMCs" which featured three (3) companies-recipients of 2001 Outstanding LMC Award, namely, Asian Transmission Corporation, Central Azucarera Don Pedro and Philippine Geothermal, Inc. The project was partly funded by ILO.
  • Production of LMC Posters. The poster design highlights all the five companies that won in the 1999 and 2001 Search for Outstanding LMCs, together with a message that these unionized companies have harmonious labor-management relations through their LMCs. The project was part of the Nationwide Education Project funded by ILO.
  • Nationwide broadcast of successful LMC experience over DZRB (Radyo ng Bayan) 738 AM. May 5, 12, 19 & 26, 2000.

2001

  • Conduct of the 3rd National Convention on LMC, October 25-26, 2001, which gathered some 500 LMC practitioners throughout the country. Key Resource persons were U.S. Federal Mediation & Conciliation Service (FMCS) Commissioner Eileen B. Hoffman and Mr. Seigo Kojima of Asian Productivity Organization (APO), Japan on the topics LMC Best Practices: The U.S.A. Experience and the Japan Experience, respectively.
  • Local and overseas broadcast on Labor Market Flexibility and LMC over DWSS 1494 AM; September 30, 2001.
  • Production of 2001 Directory of LMC Practitioners in the Philippines.

2000

  • PHILAMCOP's 1st General Assembly, October 20, 2000, NEAP Hall, Teacher's Camp, Baguio City. Resource persons were Mr. Seigo Kojima of the Asian Productivity Organization, Japan on the topic "Emerging Trends and Best Practices in LMC; Undersecretary Rosalinda D. Baldoz on Labor Situationer Update and Global Perspective on Work in the Future.
  • Symposium on Labor Code Revision Project, e-mail law, retail trade law. Co-sponsored with Ateneo Center for Continuing Education and PALMCO, August 9, 2000, Ateneo Professional School, Rockwell, Makati. There were 118 participants from 53 companies.

1999

  • PHILAMCOP was incorporated and registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
  • Co-sponsored with NCMB the conduct of the 2nd National Convention on Labor-Management Cooperation on November 25-26, 1999 at Grand Men Seng Hotel, Davao City.

 

PHILAMCOP is the
prime mover of Labor-Management Cooperation in sustaining industrial peace and productivity towards growth and development in the Philippines & Asia Pacific Region.
