Week 4 Studs and Duds
Studs
QB Donovan McNabb made a return to his running roots and overcoming a shaky start in the first half in what was a great day for #5. He rushed for 47 yards and 2 TDs as well as throwing 16-30 with 288 yards and 2 TDs.
WR Reggie Brown did not rack up a whole lot of stats as he only had 3 catches for 63 yards. Brown did however show his willingness to step up and be "that guy" after the loss of Stallworth the past two weeks. Brown was gutting it out every play and really did a nice job in the process.
WR Greg Lewis had only 1 career TD before this game in addition to his Super Bowl catch. After this game, G-Lew can say he has 3 career TDs. Lewis was on the bubble to make the team in training camp, showed the explosive speed and quickness the Eagles kept him for as he picked on the overmatched Packers secondary all day.
What a difference it is having KR Dexter Wynn returning kicks/punts. On 3 kickoffs, Wynn ran for 71 yards averaging 23.7 yards a return. His really good stats came with his punt returns. On two punts, he ran the ball back for 14 yards giving the Birds good field position each time.
Duds
Things have not gotten easier for CB Joselio Hanson. He is just plain overmatched out there. Besides dropping a sure interception, Joselio's job was to cover rookie WR Greg Jennings. Jennings had 5 catches for 86 yards. Right now, Hanson looks like a deer in headlights out there.
RB Correll Buckhalter was asked to pick it up following the late game scratch of Brian Westbrook. As a result. Buckhalter has only 49 yards rushing and 2 goal line fumbles to show for it, both of which went the Packers way. Buckhalter's recovery story is unbelievable, but he can't be making those kinds of mistakes.
Honorable Mention
Studs
DT LaJuan Ramsey was the last guy drafted by the Eagles in the 2006 draft and Jim Johnson loves him. He hasnt registered any sacks yet but he did come away with a momentum changing interception that was nice to see.
RB Ryan Moats picked up his game to help the struggling Buckhalter. Moats didn't do a pretty job, but he did do a good enough job to keep the ball moving and set up the passing game for McNabb.
SS Michael Lewis had a great game for the second week in a row. After strugging the first two weeks, Lewis has stepped it up. In Week 4 he laid big hits on several receivers and got his first INT of the year. It is nice to see Lewis finally play up to his potential.
Duds
RT William Thomas has played well all year except for this week. Thomas allowed sacks of McNabb by two Green Bay defensemen. Thomas has an important role. he knows it, and definately needs to step up.
One game removed from making a name for himself in Philly, DE Darren Howard had a lackluster game registering 0 sacks and 0 tackles against the Packers. For the Eagles to have a good pass rush, Howard needs to do a good job and he didn't do one this week.
