CENTRAL & NORTHERN THAILAND 6 DAYS / 5 NIGHTS Day 1 : Bangkok - Ayuthaya - Phitsanuloke Depart Bangkok to visit the summer palace at Bang-Pa-In and the ancient ruins at Ayuthaya. Continue to Lopburi - visit Prang Sam Yod, Sarn Phrakarn and the Narai Rajanives Palace / Museum enroute to Phitsanuloke. Overnight at Amarin Lagoon Hotel ****. Day 2 : To Sukhothai - Lampang Breakfast. Visit Phra Buddha Jinaraj at Phitsanuloke, then leave for Sukhothai - visit the complex of ruins and cradle of Thai civilization. Continue to visit the ruins at Si Satchanalai, then onward to Lampang where visits are made to some intricate Burmese style temples. Overnight at Wieng Thong Hotel ****. Day 3 : To Phayao - Chiang Rai Breakfast. Depart for Phayao en route for Chiang Rai - gateway to region of the Golden Triangle. Boat trip up the Mae Kok River to visit the various hill tribe villages along the river bank. Overnight at Wang Come Hotel ****. Day 4 : To Golden Triangle - Chiang Mai Breakfast. Visit Mae Sai - the border town linked by a common bridge to "Takhilek" in Burma, Chiang Saen - the ancient kingdom with a lovely setting on the bank of the Mekhong River. Go uphill to visit the large Akha and Yao hill tribe settlements nearby Mae Chan, then continue for Chiang Mai - the charming capital of the north. Overnight at Chiang Inn Hotel ****. Day 5 : Sightseeing In Chiang Mai Breakfast. Visit the Doi Suthep Mountain Temple and the Home Industries on the out skirt of Chiang Mai - silk & cotton weaving, silverware, lacquer-ware, wood carving, hand painted umbrellas, etc. Overnight at Chiang Inn Hotel ****. Day 6 : End Of Trip Breakfast. See the elephants at work in the tropical forest, visit an Orchid Farm and the Mae Sa Waterfall. The trip ends with transfer to either Chiang Mai Airport or Train Station. The trip ends with transfer to either Chiang Mai Airport or Train Station.
