BANGKOK - the city of angels Established in 1782 by King Rama I as capital of Siam. Over the past two centuries, the city has developed into a great metropolis with a population of around 10 millions. Like other modern cities of the world, Bangkok has lots of massive buildings, numerous luxurious hotels, shopping centers and delightful entertainment places in addition to its glittering temples, crowded canals, colorful markets and serene parks. It is a mixture of East and West, the ancient and the modern. |

TOUR DESCRIPTIONS City & Temples - visit the main city area, monuments, china town and three of Bangkok's most significant temples : Wat Traimitr (Golden Buddha), Wat Po (Reclining Buddha), Wat Benjamabophit (Marble Temple). Grand Palace - visit the Royal Palace ground with its architectural splendor and the adjacent Wat Phra Keo (Emerald Buddha Temple) with its pantheons of kings, golden pagodas, etc. Bangkok Klongs - boat trip along the Chao Phya River and the inner canals of Bangkok and Thonburi with visit to Wat Arun (Temple of Dawn) and the mooring site of the Royal Barges. Jim Thompson House - visit the house of the pioneer of the Thai silk industry where an impressive collection of Thai and oriental antiques can be seen and admired. Rose Garden - visit the lovely flower garden, just 30 kms from Bangkok and famous for its show of Buddhist ordination and Thai wedding ceremonies, sword fighting, cock fighting, Thai boxing, elephants at work, classical and folkloristic dances. Crocodile Farm - visit the world's largest crocodile farm at Pak Nam where more than 50,000 crocodiles are kept and bred. A show demonstrate how they are captured, fed and restrained. Ancient City / Crocodile Farm - A combined visit to the Crocodile Farm and the Ancient City where replicas of Thailand's most significant temples and monuments are housed in an open air museum. Damnearn Saduak Floating Market - visit the rural floating market, some 90 kms west of Bangkok where the scenes are always crowded and colorful. Ayuthaya / Bang-Pa-In - visit the lovely summer palace at Bang-Pa-In and the ancient ruins of Ayuthaya, the old capital of Siam with its past glories until it was besieged and destroyed by the Burmese. Thai Dinner / Classical Dancing - dine in a traditional decorated Thai restaurant while being entertained by Thai classical dances. Dinner / Cruise - a delightful dinner while cruising the Chao Phya River for spectacular night views of lighted Grand Palace, Wat Phra Keo and Wat Arun with entertainment on board. Damnearn Saduak / Rose Garden - a full day trip to visit the rural floating, the world's tallest pagoda at Nakorn Pathom and the Rose Garden with admission to the Thai village show. Lunch included. Ayuthaya by River Sun Cruise - Visit the summer place at Bang-Pa-In and the ancient ruins at Ayuthaya, going by boat and returning by road or vice versa. Buffet lunch on board. |
