We've started a little "side project" for non-OOP stuff on our "Two Dogs Unlimited Labs" sub-label. These releases are mostly 5.1 channel isolation tracks, but Skolnik might find other ways to deviously manipulate these poor tracks.
Here's another pet project we have added to the TBLL canon (when there's time and interest of course). This series are 5.1 extracts from various multi-channel DVD, DVD-Audio, and DTS discs. Some of these tracks are absolutely fantastic and bring out the buried brilliance buried deep in the motherlode. Enjoy!

I don't know where to really begin, but here it goes...
I first met Dr. Skolnik years ago online while trading CD-Rs. We quickly struck up a friendship, found out we lived practically down the street from each other and have become inseparable confidantes. Skolnik, who, to this day, refuses to tell me his last name, wanted to use his new computer to mess around with music for those nerdy types who enjoy listening to sound manipulations that have applied out-of-phasing techniques. Although he SWEARS it's a difficult and demaning process, I beg to differ with the good doctor. In the end, he does make some weird and interesting sounds with his software that he claims to have developed. I know better...Bottom line is, the sound is good, better than most OOP projects, and demands the listener pay attention or he will be lost in the shuffle. Skolnik likes to think of himself as a professor type even though I think he's just a kook most of the time. To be perfectly frank, I'm even sure if Skolnik is his real name either. I think he's just a big "Revenge of the Nerds" fan. One day I swear I'll find out!
So why do this you might ask? Well, we're music geeks, pure and simple. Skolnik rarely ventures outside, let alone from his PC, for the sun hurts his eyes. He tells me he's not particularly fond of conversing with other human beings. I guess I'm one of his few "social outlets". We're just two enthusiastic young men who enjoy listening to music from a different perspective. And OOPing does just that. You never know what you're going to end up with when applying the type of processing we employ...well, Skolnik employs. By the way, NONE of these recordings are left or right channel isolations as they are a real CHEAP way to pass off OOP tracks. Skolnik gets real pissed with "outfakes" that claim to be OOP when, in fact, they are just isolated stereo tracks. Any schlub can do that!
Having said all that, we started Two Boys Limited Labs. It's not the most inventive name, but that's not what we do so we're not too terribly concerned. It's a name...big deal.
Now a little about our releases...We have handpicked the artists and songs here based solely on our likings. If you wonder why a certain Elton John tune is missing, or included for that matter, or why we haven't done any Celine Dion discs yet, there is a reason. Plus, there are only a finite amount of minutes in a day. We do have to eat, sleep, work, listen, play with the kids, etc. so when we do select something to do, it's quite deliberate. I do the art, Skolnik does the music. It just works best that way...If you want scans, we'll have to e-mail them to you.
WE DO NOT SELL THESE DISCS!! PERIOD!! Copyrights are owned by the copyright owners, period. We simply take commercial releases and make them sound different, that's all. But we do collect stuff and welcome trades! We'd be happy to send you a list of our other stuff too...I will tell you that upcoming releases will include...The Beatles, The Beach Boys, Genesis, Prince to name just a few. Hope we've whetted your appetite!

When released in 1999, the "Yellow Submarine Songtrack" was mixed with the intent to be played on systems with a "Dolby Pro-Logic" decoder. Because of this, the mixes were VERY interesting in that a lot of information was panned dead center.
On this release, we have not only included the entire "YSS", but have also included many bonus tracks from "1" which also produced some very interesting results. Sit back, and enjoy another great listen from "the boys".

Why these guys never received massive critical claim is
completely beyond our comprehension. The biggest argument probably
would be the music is too intelligent. What else could it be?
These guys were definitely a band out of time. Instead of 1967,
they were mired in the early '90s where music of this type seemed,
unfortunately, out of place. Andy Sturmer is now a successful producer.
Roger Manning has enjoyed success playing with Beck and a host
of notable artists. But let's just take a few moments to really
appreciate the cool sounds of their only two full length releases.

I had this HUGE urge to listen to these first two records a few
weeks ago. And I must honestly say they are TERRIFIC albums. BNL
did take a lot of heat for "Maybe You Should Drive" as it seemed
a tad "indulgent" and a strange sophomore offering. But why the
hell not? I guess that's why it's my favorite BNL to date. Lots of
goodies buried here, especially Ed's and Steve's harmony vocals. I
then pulled out the rest of their catalog and discovered/rediscovered

What can be said about this great record? Seeing it FINALLY has a re-release
date in 2008, it'll get some more deserved recognition as being one of, if
not THE, best Beach Boys solo project. As always, this Phasing Phun release
unlocks many cool hidden nuggets for your approval/disapproval. As with all
releases, we hope it gets you to thinking about picking up the originals and
experience them all over again!

Van Dyke Parks...The man can write a good song. He ain't too shabby of
a singer/producer/conductor either. Steeped in Americana and a longing
for a simpler time, this music evokes imagery of sail boats, the wild
west, California orchards and America's Imperialistic nature. Sit back and enjoy this series of music from one of this country's better songwriters.
