Mare Imbrium is a project that tries to get back to the roots of the musical experience, using new technologies as a starting point.  

The evolution of music related technologies involving composing, recording and playing music, allow us today to create a personal studio around a standard personal computer. This kind of studio although simple at first look, offers a very powerfull set of tools for the artist, and supports the process of creating and enjoying music in a very direct and close way.  

On the other hand, for those who just enjoy the pleasure of listening music, the effect of these technical advances is reflected in the increase of options available. As more artists are able to produce music independently and with new channels to reach the audience (internet) the posibilities of enjoying new music will become huge. 

Where are we going? There are two technologies that brighten the future:  

Home CD recorders are a reality in the market today, anybody can make CDs at home. This is no longer a hi-tech issue. 

The continous growing of the internet, and the development of audio technologies to distribute audio files. 

What does this means? well, in a very short time any person with musical creativity will be able to create and record music in his/her personal studio with a profesional quality, and distribute his/her work electronically, reaching audiences all over the world. This audiences will be able to download this music and create their own CD's with the material they like. A complete change in the scheme surrounding the music business in the last 50 years !
