Tourism Club of Penang Free School is one of the clubs in the co-curricular system of Penang Free School. This club consists of 40 members and is supervised by the teacher advisor, Pn. Oon Kim Boey and her assistant is Pn. Suriya Kumari.

The theme for Tourism Club of Penang Free School is "Tour With The Frees". In connection with the aims and objectives of this club, this theme carries the vision to promote the tourism industry to the students of Penang Free School. Besides that, this theme is also meant to encourage the students to gain more knowledge and experiences in the world of tourism. Also, this theme carries the vision to promote tourism destinations in Malaysia, Penang in particular, among the students of PFS.

This club was established on the 26th of October 1995. During that time, the club consists of only 16 members. Tan Gaik Hwa was the first president of the club. At first, Mr. Ch'ng became the temporary teacher advisor of the club. Since 1996, Pn. Oon Kim Boey became the teacher advisor of PFS Tourism Club till now. Pn. Oon has worked hard and contributed a lot of effort in upholding the name of this club.

Penang Free School Tourism Club is formed with the aims and objectives below :-

� To provide healthy activities to the students
� To expose the students to the tourism industry in
...Malaysia, especially in Penang.
� To promote Penang as a tourism destination to the
...students and as a spot for students to get to know
...about Penang better.
� To play a role as a spot for students to improve on
...their socializing skills with the society.
� To instill love to our land, Malaysia.
� To reduce stress faced by students.


The Theme

- Escape To The Paradise Island -

The theme for this website "Penang - Pearl Of The Orient", is "Escape To The Paradise Island". It carries the symbol of Penang as a lovely paradise for tourists, both locals and foreigners. It meant about Penang as a place for people to escape from the stress and pressure faced in the hectic life in town such as students with their studies pressure and adults with their stress faced in work. This theme also carries the meaning of Penang as a perfect holiday-get-away for everyone. With its golden beaches with sparkling clear water, shopping complexes, multi-characteristics festivals and various hawkers food and seafood, Penang is simply undeniable as a perfect spot for tourists. The lure of Penang is irresistable !

Activities



Tourism Club of Penang Free School is one of the most active clubs in PFS. Many activities were held for all the members under the supervision of our teacher advisor and our fellow committees.

Among the activities we participated in are as followed : -

� A visit to Sandy Bay Paradise Hotel
� Gathering for the YTL Grand Parade
� A visit to the Home For Aged Indians, Nibong Tebal
� Inter-school Tourism Quiz
� Tourism Club Telematch
� Chinese New Year and Hari Raya Celebration
� Mask making competition
� Candle making session
� Visit to Gunung Jerai, Kedah
� Visit to Teluk Tempoyak







Besides the activities stated above, the club has also organized and participated in various activities and events. With the aim to fulfill the objectives of the club, these activities were carried out successfully. Besides providing knowledge to the members of the club, these activities had brought joy to everyone and also strengthen the relationship between the members.

Therefore, it is everyone's hope that the Tourism Club of Penang Free School will achieve more glories and successes in the future. With the vision to learn from the past, act in the present and dream for the future, the Tourism Club of Penang Free School marches forward into this new millennium with the vision to achieve its aims and objectives.
