"Bio"-The Diary of a Crazy Dude

It was on February 25, 1985 when I was brought into the world at Mercy Hospital in Rockville Center. Since the day of my birth I have lived in Port Washington. My name comes from my great-great-great-uncle who lived in Ireland and was a Catholic Minister. My mother’s side of the family is Irish and Scottish, while my father’s family is Jewish. I have two sisters who are now married and have their own children. Now my only company in the house are my two dogs since my parents never pay attention to me. I have always been the baby of the family. During my early days my sisters loved to take care of me since I was the new addition to the family. I was always and still am a very friendly boy since I was constantly around my sisters and their friends. As a young one I was always the crazy one out of my friends. I would do things they would not do. I was always a mischievous little boy. When I look at my life I am really not scared of taking risks for anything. It’s kind of weird though because both of my parents are laid back and are not loud people. My parents have very unusual names my father’s name is a girl’s name, Mickey. My mother has a guys name, Keith. I have lived a very adventurous childhood. I always had to be doing things or else I would become very cranky. The best thing that happened in my life was when my parents decided to build a house in Montauk. From the time I was just a little boy I have spent my summers out their surfing and playing sports all day long. My past was filled with many fun and enjoyable activities, but now it is time for me to move to the present.

I am still a resident of Port Washington and am now attending Schreiber High School as a junior. I am still to this day a very crazy, active, and at times mischievous boy. I have always liked trying new things. A couple years ago I decided surfing was my new activity that I was going to try. Ever since that day surfing has been my passion. I go during the summer, winter, spring, and fall. In the past several months I have planned weekends and even vacations so I can go surfing. This year I made my parents go to the Dominican Republic so I could go surfing. I also take pleasure in playing soccer, which I have played since I was 6 years old. Although, I play many sports for school and for fun I am still doing very well in school. Even though at times my parents don’t believed that I am studying and that I am worrying to much on my sports I am still maintaining my good grades. I have also learned to become responsible and to be able to manage my time effectively. During Fall and spring of the last two years I have played varsity sports and as many know they take up a huge amount of your time and energy. Rather then taking my work seriously, during middle school, and doing it on a timely basis I procrastinated all the time. Since I have joined High School I have understood that I need to do work as soon as possible and as efficiently as possible. After school on Tuesdays and Thursdays I tutor kids at Weber so I can help them improve their grades. I really do not love doing it, but I realize that I am helping somebody else out instead of just thinking about myself all the time. At times I complain to my parents that I live a really tough life, but if I truly look at everything I can pretty much do whatever I want whenever I want. Besides, playing soccer and going to the beach and surfing I have many hobbies. One of them is pretty boring to many people but brings me a lot of delight and that is playing video games with my neighbors. Something that I would like to do in the future is go sky diving or learn how to fly a plane. These activities really portray my characteristics because they are two of the most frightening things to do in the world. I would like to show myself that I can conquer any challenge.

Through the years I have had many ideas for what I want to specialize in and where I wanted my life to go. At first I was thinking about becoming a veterinarian because I love animals and that seemed like a fun and interesting profession. Then I thought I wanted to have a very active career one where I could travel a lot and that was surfing. I soon realized my life would go no where after a certain age if I were a surfer. What would I do with my life if surfing didn’t work out? I would have nothing no education no thoughts of where I could find work. As of now I really don’t have ANY idea of what I want to become. I plan on living on the west coast just a little change of scenery from New York. I would also like to have a big family and have all boys. First off, though in a couple years I would like to be in a good college so I can begin thinking of what direction I want to take my life in. If I can’t be a surfer I want to be a lawyer or some type of doctor. I realize if I want to be either of these people I will have to attend many years of school after my four years of college. I would definitely take that sacrifice of going to law school or med school if I could one day help or even save other people’s lives. From this point in my life my future looks bright and adventurous. Thoughts about my future have really not struck my life yet. As of now I am still dealing with the problems and activities that I live with each day.
