The University of Pepperdine is one of the most beautiful campuses in the country. The dorms overlook the Pacific Ocean, its twenty-foot waves are rolling in from the reefs. No one could ask for a campus more perfect than that. In addition to the physical beauty the temperature of the air and the water are perfect for surfing. If you let me go to this college for surfing it will change my life for the better. First of all, the reason I want to go here is because surfing is my life and surfing is a good way for me to succeed in the world. Secondly, I will get better at surfing and maybe be able to make the pro tour. And finally, I will be able to learn many new techniques since I will be in the water everyday all day. As well as learning how to be the best surfer I can I will with out a doubt maintain my school grades so I will be able to have a career after surfing. Shipping me off to Pepperdine will be the right thing for all of us.

I don’t need many friends, because surfing is my life. Sitting out on the water waiting for the waves to role is a better feeling to me than anything else in the world. At this college, since the campus is overlooking the crystal clear water of the Pacific I will be able to surf every single day. Day in and day out. It will be the greatest experience of my life. I have been surfing since I was 4 years old and I am truly devoted to this sport. It is my solace in life, whenever I am upset I will just leave my house and go to the beach and surf for a couple hours. If I go to this college it will prepare me to surf competitively in the pro tour. My goal in life is not only to make money surfing and be able to support my family, but also to be able to travel the world and do what I love. Please allow me to do what I want in life I don’t want to follow in your footsteps. I want to pursue my goals in life and make a name for myself. Although surfing is my life I promise that I will keep up my academics even though the real reason I will be in school is for surfing.

Pepperdine will be the most perfect environment for surfing. The waves are huge, they break far off shore, and they form perfect barrels. I will be able to improve my skills that I already know, so I might be able to have a chance to qualify to make the pro tour. With practice daily I can perfect my aerials and carves. While I surf in Montauk the waves are not near big enough for me to perform these tricks perfectly and with style. Pepperdine is one of the only colleges that the waves are "perfect." While being in the water as much as possible I will improve my big wave ridding skills. When I took that trip to Costa Rica I was taught how to catch a wave while being towed in by a Jet Ski and at Pepperdine I won’t have to travel anywhere to do that. Pepperdine will fulfill everything I ever wanted to be able to do surfing wise. This college will not only help me improve my skills but I will hopefully learn many new tricks. Mom I could not ask for anything more than to just allow me to go to Pepperdine so I can fulfill my dream of being a pro surfer.

It will be on the beaches of Pepperdine not the classrooms that I will learn the most. Since I will be surfing with kids just like me I might be able to learn new techniques. I’ve always wanted to be able to do a 360 and hopefully I will be able to conquer that feat if I’m around "surfer boys" like me. In addition there are many competitions and scouters who will be watching to see if there are any break through surfers. Hopefully they will ask for my name along the line. Most likely I will meet a friend that is a very good surfer who might want to join the pro tour with me. It would be a lot more enjoyable and safe if I could travel the world with a friend and not by myself. If I could live and surf at Pepperdine I will have a better chance of pursuing my life long dream. Not to be conceited but I’m a pretty good surfer as it is but I know I have a lot to learn. If I’m around surfers all day every day we will push each other to our best capabilities.

As well as learning how to conquer all my surfing feat I will definitely keep up my grades so just in case I don’t become a professional surfer I will be able to succeed in another profession. Although surfing will come first I will have all the nights to keep up on my school work. I want to be able to choose a major so after surfing I can go into a business and be able to support my family. Sending me to Pepperdine will not be a waste of money. Surfing will be my priority, but I will be just as devoted to do my school work and be the smartest I possible can.

Pepperdine has been my dream forever. I know you guys want me to stay close but I want to go to college where my best interests are not where you think I will succeed the most. This is the place where I will have a chance to grasp my goal of being a professional surfer. I know I have not gotten many choices in my life but if I can ask for one favor can you please send me to the beaches of California.
