Although it is impossible to pin point every disease, there are visible signs of a sick fish. They will likely
begin with one of these symptoms:
Change in weight - excessive loss or gain
The good news is that most diseases with external signs are treatable. Hopefully, the following will be a

Sickness due to poor water quality
Before worrying your self over possible illnesses, make sure you go through a check list to rule out the
'easy' causes of sickness.
Check all water levels - ammonia, nitrates, phosphates, pH
Check water for cleanliness
Check temperature of aquarium
Check food for moisture, dust, mold
Check filtration system for proper working order
Check for proper aeration
