It's on these grounds that we started to see our first wildlife and we saw a lot more later on our trip.
One night we have been to the village of the Ksan and they gave us a great feast meal from all kinds of different tastes of salmon from the barbeque, baked potatos, salade and fresh raspberries. It was a meal to remember and we felt very much welcomed. You miss only one lady in this picture. Karen never understood how much she missed because she didn't like fish. (poor Karen)
On the excursian we had in the Ksan village we learned a lot about the different clans ( the mosquito, the wolf, the frog and the eagle) In the later history the clan from the killer whale also found it's way.
We heard some of the stories behind the totem poles and in the newly built town from the Ksan you heard the story from the first nation people, before the white men came to Canada. The houses were built of Cedar and they smelled lovely and the story that was told was impressive. It was important though to really listen with not only your head, but your heart as well.
This was the dog of Shelly's mum, Girly, she is part wolf and a lovely animal.
