My Naturist Information
This page is dedicated to Rick Perkins, who died of cancer, sometime between April and October of 1998.
A great man has been lost in the fight for a purly naturist world...

This page is devoted to the notion that it shouldn't be necessary to wear clothes where clothing is inappropriate, and where nudity doesn't offend other people. For myself, I got interested in the naturist/nudist way of life when I saw an article in the newspaper about the Eastern Canadian Nudist Gathering that was coming up on the summer of 1997. I had wanted to try that sometime, just to see what it was like. I had a good time at that event, and have been involved in the naturist lifestyle ever since. I've discussed my visits to a nudist retreat with a few friends, and some of the people have the wrong ideas about being a nudist/naturist.

Naturism is a lifestyle enjoyed by thousands of people around the world. It is based on the concept that the wearing of clothing is optional. By freeing ourselves of this restrictive social custom, we also free ourselves from many other socially imposed feelings. Wearing cloths implies body shame, by removing them we free ourselves of this shame, and enter a world of reduced stress and tension and a more relaxed way of life. This is a natural state to be in.

The truth about the nudist/naturist lifestyle is not what most people tend to mistakenly assume. It is not about sex. It is a wonderful, relaxing way of living based on freedom, body acceptance, and respect for others for who they are, not what they look like. In my personal opinion, I've found myself feeling better, both physically and emotionally, after spending time outside in the nude.

Non-nudists (textiles) often ask; "Why would you take off all your clothes in front of other people and run around naked?" Well, we don't just run around naked, and there are a lot of good reasons we prefer to be nude. The obvious reason that first pops into my mind is "Nude is natural and more comfortable!", but comfort is only one of the many benefits of nudism.
