The "movie-space"
pavilion is a demountable structure erected at 2 key locations around the
Chinatown district. Its purpose is to promote the event of the KLFF to
the general public. The structure is made up of glass-fibre reinforced
polyester rod with stainless steel joints and a transluscent PTFE fabric
membrane. The surfaces of the membrane are lit up by projected images which
animate the planes of the structure. In passing through the movie-space
pedestrian create interference in the projected images; the
user interacts with the pavilion and becomes part of the image display.

Pedestrian
look up the Chinatown skline to see "pink
clouds" suspended overhead, emanating a soft
lanter-like glow. These shard-shape forms act as visual signifier of the
KLFF. They are made up of flexible aluminium chassis, shrink-wrapped in
screen-printed fabric membrane. Strands of fibre-optics are passed through
its frame which generate the soft glow, seen during night time. The
aluminium chassis is equipped with specially-fitted video cameras that
relay broadast of events around the festival.
