From July 2004 up to Second Quarter of this year 2006, our office reported 5,910 Employed San Jose�os. 53% of which belongs to the wage employed (local and overseas) and the other 47% to the self employed.
Another equally important component of PESO is the Training and Development Unit which focuses in the capability building for us San Jose�o constituents.
Our goal is to develop our skilled San Jose�os to become productive citizens, to be globally competitive and to have positive work values. That's why our office is maintaining a close coordination w/ TESDA.
At present, since we started conducting trainings in 2004, we were able to produce 6,479 certificates to our San Jose�os from various skills and enhancements trainings and seminars.
These certificates were the product on the areas of auto/mechanical trainings. Consisting of electronics, automotive, welding, motorcycle repair, electrical, cell phone repair and driving.
Another field is the Hospitality of Soft Trade Trainings which include HRS, Cosmetology, Reflexology, Caregiver, food Processing, Bartending, Home Management, Security Guard, Candle Making, Computer Literacy, Computer Proficiency, English Proficiency and Call Center.
We also conduct pre-employment seminars, continuing and enhancements seminars like Job Application Skills Seminar, Salesmanship, Career Guidance Seminar, Overseas Employment Orientation, Trainer's Training Methodology Course, 7 Effective Work Habits, Promotion of Self-Employment and 5 S
The Manpower requirement of our Project by Administration, Locally Funded Teachers of Public Schools and Emergency Employment were also sourced from PESO.
The Job Fair Activities, One-Stop-Shop for Employment Requirements, Pre-Employment Seminars and other enhanced related services are also being offered by our office to assist our applicants in landing a job.
Finally, the Food for work provide employment to San Jose�o's albeit, temporarily, to help underprivileged families ease their economic woes, aid the applicants and develop positive values and work habits in performing duties and tasks, and to provide the workforce needed to fast track the construction and operation of the different departments/offices such as City Agriculture, Procurement, PESO, City Health Office, City Engineering, Cooperative, Motorpool and Public Schools. Total P.A. Beneficiaries as of June 2006 is 521.
