Work experience:
2003 - Foreign and Commonwealth Office - Worked for the Iraq Correspondence Unit with the Iraq Policy Unit. I was responsible for answering and clearing a backlog of public letters. I designed and implemented a database allowing letter details to be stored, envelopes and letters to be mail-merged and tailored. The database also provided useful statistical data for the unit. Duration of work 6 weeks.
2003 - Foreign and Commonwealth Office - Worked for the travel advice unit (part of the Consular unit). I was responsible for answering public calls, emails and letters as well as drafting travel advice. Duration of work 3 months.
2002 - Strutt and Parker - Worked in facilities - distributing post and ordering
stock. At the same time created a database which made the mail sorting process
easier. Duration of work 3 months.
Summer 2001 - Worked for the Civic Trust. Contributed to the development of their web page and used their existing database (I later developed a system to replace this) to help members of staff with mail merges and data finding.
Summer 2000 - Worked with Computing group in Clifford Chance a multi-national law firm on the development of specialist systems that would give legal advice at a lower price than a lawyer.
Interests / Hobbies:
I have a wide range of interests including reading, tennis, rock-climbing,
canoeing, sailing, abseiling, film, music, art, philosophy, politics and history.
