Hi Everyone:  Does any of your creative minds have a cute idea that I could use as a small gift at our appreciation luncheon for our RS board? We just want all the sisters to know how much we adore them and what they bring to our RS. Thanks in advance...PS..It's in 2 days..help!!

Oh Donna! You read my mind! I was just about to ask for the same type of ideas as soon as I read all of my mail! I have a little bit longer to pull things together, because the one I'm in charge of is in a week and a half.
Please!!!

Any brilliant ideas out there? What have all of you done in the past? Last year, we had a barbecue in the 1st couns backyard, and gave everyone a tiny galvanized bucket filled with candy. It had a rub-on heart decal and the candy was tied inside a piece of hot pink cellophane. I wasn't in charge of this part, so I can't remember the poem that was attached, and can't find it right now. I'll keep looking, though, because it was a really good one.
Thanks!

For whatever help it is, for our board meeting in March, our Homemaking counselor rounded up small wooden cutouts with the word "Love" on each.  She and her daughter painted them and put magnets on the back of each one.  We attached them to the following poem:

Because She is My Sister

Because she is my sister
I will learn to reallly care
And to act with true compassion
for it is a privilege rare
To extend my help and sympathy
Share her load and dry her tears
And make her life more meaningful
By allaying many doubts and fears

Because she is my sister
I will pray for special tools
That are not made in factories
And do not come from worldly schools
I'll use my talents in her behalf,
My strength I'll add to hers
To make our testimonies grow
As the Gospel light within us stirs

She's always been my sister,
Even prior to mortal birth;
We just have different parents
for our sohourn here on earth.
I am my sister's keeper
Have always been since time began,
And I pray our association
Will continue in the eternal plan.

Good luck in your efforts!
