In May we again were able to take the puppets outside of the Church setting, performing in the open air at Newcastle's carnival.
July was a busy month with the puppets appearing at a Teddy Bears Picnic with St.Andrews Church, as well taking part in our own church's garden party. Then towards the middle of the month the puppets told the story of the prodigal son during morning assembly at St.George's and St Giles school.
In August the puppets visited a holiday club in Abbey Hulton, telling the story of David and Goliath among other skits. This day also included some workshops teaching the children how to use the puppets, and making simple finger puppets with them. In September the puppets were again seen in St.George's Church hall performing as part of the festival of talents celebration.
October was the month of the European Puppet Festival held in Reading. Despite the collapse of the rail network at this time the PENGUINS did manage to attend the festival and were able to put an original entry into the competition where the puppets took on their startrek like characters to remind us of the true purpose of the church. Then at the end of October was the light party where the puppets reminded us not to be afraid but to put our trust in Jesus by performing the story of Peter walking on the water (interesting without legs!).
