MUSIC WORKSHOP

The Music Committee is planning a music workshop for Saturday, Oct. 20 at 1 p.m. in the sanctuary. Doug Boldt from Richmond COG in the Portland area will be leading the workshop. MID-WEEK COORDINATOR

Our Wednesday evening children’s program needs a leader. Our children are valuable, they are precious and deserve the best! Right now we do NOT have a coordinator for their mid-week classes. We are looking for someone who can, with assistance, lead this fun program. It includes choosing material, recruiting teachers/helpers and serving on the Board of Christian Education. BOOK REVIEW

"Tell Me the Story of Jesus" by Carol Reinsma is a wonderful book of salvation. It is a joy to read a book that is geared for a younger reader. As adults we have a tendency to shy away from some books for the younger generation. This is a book that we need to read and to suggest to others who haven’t heard the story of Jesus. In the first chapter, the author gives us a good overview of who Jesus is and what our expectations are. There is planting going on in the chapter "My Father’s House"—are you planting seeds for Jesus? And in the chapter "Big Dinner" what can make you too busy for Jesus so that you might miss dinner? Scripture is included along with fantastic illustrations. Let's use the Word of God to share Jesus with this book that makes the salvation message easy. The publisher is International Bible Society and it is a wonderful addition to our library. Check it out!

BIBLE STUDIES BEGIN SOON

Two ladies Bible studies will begin in October:
  • A weekly study in Psalms at Phyllis Mayberry’s, 3323 SW Kirk, 9:30 am to 11 am. Dates to be announced. Contact DiAnna Miller (276-9020) for a study book.
  • Tracy Childress will hold a study here at the church each Tuesday at 7 p.m. Starting date to be announced.

SOUP LUNCHEON & HOLIDAY CRAFT BAZAAR

If you have a quality craft to market, contact Teri Brickey, 966-6962. This bazaar is becoming more popular with the community and we want to be sure to provide a good variety of fine, handmade craft items. Teri is planning to use the adult classroom across the hall from (as well as) the parlor to showcase the crafts in our traditional "country store" style. Call her today!
